Started with who is Anil Chauhan? Anil Chauhan is a former Eastern Army commander and he is also the director general of military operations. The serving time of any army officer in India is 40 years and Anil Chauhan has served the maximum in his life while serving 40 years for the country’s security and protection. Apart from being an army commander, Anil Chauhan is also the secretary of the department of Military affairs. As of now, Anil Chauhan is 60 years old and he is experienced with the counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Anil Chauhan retired last year in May while he was serving the country in the position of Eastern Army commander.

Some of his positions while serving the country before his retirement was as An Alumnus of the National defence academy, a Major general of an Infantry Division, and Commander of the Northeast and Eastern Command chief from 2019 until May of 2021 until his retirement. Apart from all of these Anil Chauhan was also the in-charge of the Commissioned 11 Gorkha rifles of the Indian army back in 1981 and he also was honoured with the Param Vishisht Seva medal after his retirement.

Le. Anil Chauhan was born on the 18th of May 1961 in Gharwal Division. He is a four-star general of the military and has a spanning career of 4 decades in the military. He attended the Kendriya Vidyalaya Fort William in Kolkata and graduated from the National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Anil Chauhan is a Rajput from Garhwal Region. Apart from the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Anil Chauhan was also honoured with the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishishst Seva medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, and also the Sena Medal as well. He is married to artist Anupama and they have a daughter named Pragya.
